USA Today Editoral: Trump Is Unfit To Clean Toilets In Obama's Presidential Library Or To Shine George W. Bush's Shoes

USA Today Editorial: Will Trump's lows ever hit rock bottom?

A president who'd all but call a senator a whore is unfit to clean toilets in Obama's presidential library or to shine George W. Bush's shoes: Our view

With his latest tweet, clearly implying that a United States senator would trade sexual favors for campaign cash, President Trump has shown he is not fit for office. Rock bottom is no impediment for a president who can always find room for a new low.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday dismissed the president's smear as a misunderstanding because he used similar language about men. Of course, words used about men and women are different. When candidate Trump said a journalist was bleeding from her "wherever," he didn't mean her nose.

And as is the case with all of Trump's digital provocations, the president's words were deliberate. He pours the gasoline of sexist language and lights the match gleefully knowing how it will burst into flame in a country reeling from the #MeToo moment.

I continue to distinguish between journalism news and an editorial or op ed position. That paper has always been white bread, ie, anxious to appeal to as many readers as possible, and thus for them to produce this editorial we have a strong feeling that has got them to take a position. If many papers have been unkind to Trump, just perhaps, he elicits this sort of reaction when he attacks the media and calls them fake, denies stuff that he is on record as saying, insults sitting female senator as he did the day before this op ed piece. Not by chance, then, that his overall popularity is around 34% approval.

USA Today is what you find on your doorstep at every Hotel and Motel in America. It's 99% White Bread for the Business Traveller to stare at while "enjoying" the Free Continental Breakfast Buffet, not that it's really a Continental Breakfast.

To have a front page Editorial slamming Trump is pretty overboard for USA Today.

Still, they're not wrong.

Pardon me for not being able to gather any sympathy for Trump and his followers. Trump is a victim of his own dubious success. He is a conspiracy theory believer and continual liar who cares for only DJT and no one and nothing else. Yes, the media is going to report all this. Trump would love nothing better but to hear and receive constant adoration of the masses who would clearly recognize his intellectual superiority. Unfortunately for him the majority of the news media is a cruel, cold wind blowing through his little garden party. Darn.

All of which I wouldn't care about except that there is the very real possibility of economic and foreign policy disaster under his administration. Of course it would then be up to a dem/progressive administration to clean up another GOP mess probably costing yet more trillions of dollars and who know how many dead people, with the right-wing howling all the way.

4 Absentee New York Mayorial Race ballots requests from the Trumps,

None of them could follow the 4 simple instructions properly,

All four Trump ballots, Ivanka, Melania, Don Jr. and DJT's were nullified.
