FOX News: Canadian sniper sets world record with 2.2-mile pickoff of ISIS fighter
A Canadian sniper set what appears to be a record, picking off an ISIS fighter from some 2.2 miles away, and disrupting a potentially deadly operation by the terror group in Iraq.
Shooting experts say the fatal shot at a world-record distance of 11,316 feet underscores how stunningly sophisticated military snipers are becoming. The feat, pulled off by a special forces sniper from Canada’s Joint Task Force 2, smashed the previous distance record for successful sniper shots by some 3,280 feet, a record set by a British sniper.

At that distance it took ten seconds for the round to reach the target.

When Rob Furlong made his shot and the Brit made his, they took a number of shots saw the splash then adjusted for the kill, I suspect that this was done the same way. I understand that the kill was confirmed by Camera, maybe they are using small drones to Id targets and adjust the shot, I can see how drone tech would be useful in this area or they have some powerful new optics. However they did it, good job.
After 8 hundred yards your spotter is your eyes because you almost can't see the trace of the projectile.
Is indeed an effort of a team. Your spotter has a better glass than you do

At that distance I'd think he'd have to aim so high they'd have to clear airspace of aviation. Good shooting.
