Former FBI Director Comey Seen Entering The New York Times

The pair were spotted coyly entering with their sunglasses on earlier in the day

Daily Mail: James Comey visits The New York Times building as President Trump admits he did NOT record their conversations and questions what else ousted FBI director leaked to the press

* The former FBI director was spotted at The New York Times' Times Square office on Thursday
* He was accompanied by his wife Patrice Failor and both wore sunglasses
* It came as the president admitted on Twitter that he did not record their meetings before firing Comey on May 9
* Comey admits leaking details of a memo to the Times about an unorthodox meeting he had with the president before he was fired
* The meeting was about the FBI's probe into Michael Flynn and Comey claimed he thought the president was subtly asking him to drop it
* Trump denies ever doing so but is fixated on the leak and has suggested his belief it was one of many

Former FBI director James Comey made a quiet visit to The New York Times building on Thursday, one of few public outings since he admitted leaking stories to the newspaper about President Trump before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8.

Comey kept his sunglasses on and his gaze forward as he marched through the front entrance of the Eighth Avenue office building which houses the publication. He was accompanied by his wife Patrice Failor who also wore sunglasses.

Unmistakable as he towered over the crowds in a crisp navy suit and tie on one of the warmest days of the year, Comey drew second-glances from some stunned by-passers.

He spent almost three hours inside before emerging, having removed his sunglasses, to hail a cab.

WNU Editor: This is why I like the Daily Mail. No one else in the media would park a photo-journalist in front of the New York Times to find out who is going in to talk to the New York Times. As to why did James Comey show up at the New York Times .... we now know that former FBI Director Comey did make one leak to the New York Times concerning his memos (and some suspect that he did more) .... and I guess he no longer feels the need to keep his relationship to the New York Times secret.

Update: Apparently the former FBI Director was in the building to visit a law firm's charity event. At least that is what they are saying.

He comes there walking, in public, through the front door? No meeting at an out of the way nondescript place? Some people (Comey and those at the Times) have some unusual judgement.

I do not know James. When I read the Daily Mail article I could not help but get the impression that the New York Times are probably steaming that there is a photo journalist in front of the New York Times. My prediction .... they are going to now make adjustments on how high profile people will be entering their building. On a side note. I have a friend in Canada who wants to start a web project where he covers just the people in the media and who they interact with .... not the news organisations or the stories that they post .... but the people. i.e. their political affiliations, their contributions to political parties, their personal history, etc.. He has already approached a few journalists ....and he has already been threatened. I tell you .... the media may love covering other people, but they hate being covered themselves.

Look at the picture. ..he's clearly walking very quickly and she's clearing the ahead. ..So he's a bit uncomfortable being seen and wants to rush ..but so would I if I were him -anywhere- in public. ..many people hate him from the Clinton side and many hate him from the trump side..this guy is smart to walk fast, and dumb to not have bodyguards...

I knew when I posted that comment that I was going to get a response from you. LOL
The Daily Mail is good for a few things .... and lousy on a lot of others. But they cover stories in the U.S. that the main stream media does not (or will not) cover. Such as this one.

So we should expect a big story from the NYT this week. NYT says Comey never visited their news room (they rent nearly half of the building out), but I don't believe them.

What I really want to know, is who was he talking to on his phone after the meeting? Did somebody know he was going to be at the NYT for a meeting and call him at that time specifically to see how the meeting went? He's up to something, just not sure what yet.

Comey must be reeling with bitterness right now.

He was so cocky and confident of maintaining his position that getting fired came as a shock to him.

He strikes me as the sort that will do anything he can to try get his own back on Trump.

Hate to bust any balloons but I recall when he gave the itesm (not aleak; a leak is classified stuff), he noted that he had a very close friend who worked for that paper. why, then, if visiting a friend he would have to sneak in?

Comedy is a grade A snake and scumbag

an insider tipped me that Comey used the Men's Room, 4th floor, while at the N.Y. Times

My anonymous source says it was the fifth floor. :)

Comey is lapping up the media attention. Seeks ngnit out. Not the wisest coarse of action.

seems he is mereley acting like a guy not working and out to do this and that. seeking attention? no. He gets that from here but does not seek or need it.
