A Look At Russia's Newest Tank

Business Insider: These are the plans for Russia's new third-generation tank

Russia is just about to unveil its latest armored platform, the T-14 tank.

The tank, called the Armata, has largely been kept under wraps although technical details about the platform have steadily been emerging. The Armata is planned to feature considerable upgrades to the armor, engine, and armaments of the vehicle over previous Russian and Soviet tank models.

Until the tank is actually seen in action, any claims as to the Armata's capabilities could be nothing more than propaganda, an overstatement reminiscent of Russia's improbable claims that it's working on a supersonic transport jet.

BI and the "infographic" are just guessing what the new vehicle(s) could be, but the leaked images keep comming from russia (and mainly from the Victory Day parade related areas) and those showing the opposite of what BI report. Because the news sources below are not the most trusted, the followings may not cover the reality, but until 9th of May it's more than nothing.

As I know there will be not only one, but more new vehicle showed in the parade. There will be two type of tanks, one tracked artillery, and two tracked IFV/APC. Additionally other not yet seen vehicles could be shown, like Terminator 2, and Bumerang wheeled APC.

Insted of some western style development, where they try to create one platform and fit it to every role, it's seems russia just making similar and easy to replace parts which can be found in every new vehicles. They focus is more on how many times could they use the same part, and by that they can reduce the development time and price.

From the tanks there seems to be one heavy (let's call it as T-95), with radar, auto cannon, mg, RWS turret, and with a 155mm gun. This tank is bigger than the older t-72/90s, but match the size(and also weight) of the western tanks. The other tank is the T-14 is smallers, fasters, and has a 122-125mm gun and MG combo, just like every other tank have nowadays. This lighter tank could weight about ~45 t, and mostly match to the MBT-3000.

The tracked artillery seems like an upgraded Msta, but with an even bigger turret, but got the lighter hull.

The IFV/APCs are the T-15 and BMP T-15. The BMP variant very familiar to the current BMP2s, but the layout changed a lot, it's became longer, got a RWS turret on it's back. The other vehicle seems to be a bit shorter, compared to other new vehicles.

In general, most of the new vehicles which belong to this T-1x family, got one more pair of wheel for the track, got RWS (remote controlled, manless) turret, vehicles in general became longer. Also every vehicle which I talked about has numberless different turret variats, just like earlier vehicles had. But take my words as speculation, but I hope not I'm the only one who can't wait to see the parade on 9th of May. At last here are some pic about the vehicles:
